Khodanour Lajei

Khodanoor Lajei, 27, a Baloch citizen from Shirabad, Zahedan

He had neither ID documents, nor money or possessions.

Security officers shot and severely injured his foot and flank.

He passed away due to severe bleeding and medical care deprivation the next day, which was his birthday too.

An image of him went viral on social media, showing him handcuffed and fastened to a flagpole in prison. A glass of water was in front of him on the ground.

The picture was taken the last summer when he was arrested following a conflict with a basiji’s close relative.

Khodanoor had brutally been tortured in prison before he was fastened to the flagpole all night.

Khodanoor has told prison authorities that he was thirsty. They brought a glass of water, put it in front of him on the floor, and told him to drink it, while his hands were cuffed.

Many videos of him dancing have been shared on social media, which makes his loss exceedingly painful.

Dance Khodanoor! Your dance is the dance of freedom.
