CIVITAS/Center for Civic Ed: “Foundations of Democracy”

Through the Foundations of Democracy course curriculum developed by the Center for Civic Education, students gain understanding of the fundamental concepts behind politics and government while evaluating the roles of authority, privacy, responsibility and justice in democracy. The teacher's guide provides instructions on how to guide discussions, questions to probe students' reasoning and understanding, and charts and forms easily transformed into effective handouts.
